I enjoyed S.A. Pawlowski's debut kids novel. It is considered a middle grade book, but I think it also has appeal to older readers as well. The first part of the book introduced me to the plight before Sarai and the Light Covenant members. The second part of the book really takes off. I like how the author recognizes that his main characters are just 12-13 years old, yet gives them some depth of feeling and even an ability to look inward and also seek help beyond themselves to a Creator. I'm a big fan of Obi the cat, and there are several story arcs in Sarai's Sacrifice that I can't wait to see played out in the coming novels in the series. I would recommend this book to families, kids, and readers looking for a fantastical story with hardness laced with hope, thrilling supernatural battles, sound morals, and a theological underpinning beneath it all.
Great Book For Teens!
From a teen reader: This book was an absolute joy to read. I loved the way it was set in our world and so I can imagine these things happening in my backyard as well. The biblical themes were very comforting and helped me look at things in a new light. The way S.A. Pawlowski wrote about family strife was extremely good. It was very comforting to read that and realize that every family fights and it’s normal. Sarai was also a very relatable character. I am a teenage girl and so being able to read this book and realize that my thoughts and temptations and feelings are completely normal was very comforting. All in all I 100% recommend this book!

Wonderfully written book. I'm not usually a fan of reading, but I finished this book in two days. Cannot wait for the next book to be published. Great read for people of any age.
